Tuesday I took the road less traveled home from school to see what I could find that triggered my picture taking fancy. Here are some the signs I passed.
Bustleburg is a tiny little community not far from our school...just a little bump in the road.
As I continued driving and looking, I soon was this abandoned building but did NOT trespass.
When I reached the first intersection, I noticed this “Carpenter for Hire” sign in the front yard of his house.
Once again, I had to try to turn my picture into a make believe pen and ink drawing. I’m sure there is a “correct" way to do the procedure, but I am still using the old "trial and error" method.

One of the prettiest fall scenes I've ever experienced was many years ago when my daughter and I were on our way to my Grandma's funeral and I came around the bend before going down the hill to the Goshen exit and I pulled over and stopped because the color was amazing. I had lived almost on the coast for years without seeing a good fall view. I always said my Grandma died in October to remind me of how beautiful fall could be. :)

ReplyDeleteYou have a very nice series of sign images. I, too, like the rustic wooden door with the "No Trespassing" sign on it.
As for the graffiti, you are absolutely correct. I was noticing that on our recent trip to Monument Valley, of all places. Very aggravating and sad.

The hand-carved Laurel Run is my favorite... and the unfinished "...under penalty of..." is a bit ominous, hey? The aged treatment you've given to your photos are appealing... and I'm in the same "trial and error" class as you! :-)

ReplyDeleteI have been meaning to take some photos of signs...and missed a good one today....it was a little old yellow business...one sign out from it said pizza, the sign above the door said 'Mustard's Last Stand.' We were past it before I read it, and no place to stop and pull off a busy road.
