Reds, Water, and a Bridge ~ 10-19-11

Experimentation with Color, Texture, and Movement
The Reds Are Popping Through

The lake at Watoga State Park in West Virginia.

Here is the same picture, but this time I experimented using the “twirl effect” in PSE9 as well as a texture.  I wanted to do a mouse-over, but I tried and tried to no avail. I cannot figure it out to save my soul. I went online and read multiple entries and even tried Kim Klassen’s tutorial, but still had no luck. So here you have it.
I think the experiment turned out a bit bizarre but really cool.

Another West VA Bridge...see that wee bit of red popping out around the corner?

  2. Looks like the leaves are changing colors in your neck of the woods. Your experiment reminds me a little of a Van Gough painting.

  3. I often wonder about those mouse overs like Trica does at Bluff Area Daily. I also know better than to even think of trying to learn how. Good luck with your attempts. And I really like that top photo. The next one though reminds me of my youth in the 60's and that is best left untold and forgotten.

  4. Genie, Beautiful Fall photo, and the "swirling" effect is really cool. Fun to try things--you never know what you will get. Hope your week is off to a good start. Mickie :)

  7. That's a cool edit but I prefer the original one because it's calm and simply beautiful. :)

DON’T LET THAT SCARLET GO TO YOUR HEAD

Don’t let that scarlet go to your head!
Be very glad you haven’t been bled!
Give thanks for the color dear to your heart:
Carmine and cherry and wine— a good start!

  13. I love the first picture on the lake! I hope the storm we are going to get tonight and tomorrow doesn't blow all the leaves off because I so love all the fall colors. I was just saying the other day that Fall is like a second Spring! Who knew some famous person had already made that their quote! lol

    Have a Great Week!

  15. I agree, the twirl is really cool! Unfortunately I only have CS2, and have not mastered it, only photomerge.

Fall is one of my favorite season. Love the colors!
