Eloise & Gene at North Mt. Overlook Studying a Bug
Eloise wanted her own hiking sticks, but we could not find any short enough for her at 4 - now she is 6. We ended up getting her a child’s set of ski poles and painting them pink. Success! Where there is a will, there is always a way :) Anything for my Eloise!

Hiking through the Forest on North Mt.

It appears that Eloise has hiking in her blood!
ReplyDeleteSHADOW SHOW
Shadows creeping through the land,
Shadows dark on every hand—
If they should begin to glow,
You had better run, you know!

Beautiful sharp and looming shadows. I could have written your header. I'm from the Blue Ridge of VA too.
ReplyDeleteNice work Genie. Your B&W conversions are very well done. I like the color versions as well.
ReplyDeleteEloise seems so engrossed in her joy of walking the forest track! Gorgeous photos!
ReplyDeleteEloise is beautiful, and the choice of ski poles for climbing is ingenious! She is set, the stick and carrying plenty of hydration in her backpack, she looks ready. In color or B&W, these are wonderful shots!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos, and it's so wonderful to see your little one following in your footsteps, enjoying the natural world. Love the pink walking sticks/ski poles.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful shots...we lived in Colorado when my daughter was this age...she HATED backpacking, a city girl from the gitgo, we went nearly every weekend, fortunately she had good sitters, I really miss it...she doesn't...ha!
ReplyDeleteBut we have a lot of fun together in the shop with our new look happenin'...and yes, that cupboard is fabulous...she had $275.00 on it, but sold it to me for $50.00 just so it wouldn't fall apart in decay and I am doing nothing to it, 'cept add boards for shelves, we'll put the new T's in it.
I couldn't log in this morning, PC was giving me fits, but my SSS is up and running...thanks for stopping by!
Sharon
