Buddy made it back from Vermont in time to miss our 5.8 Virginia earthquake, but he did make it in time for the hurricane Irene. We almost did not get to take our vacation at Virginia Beach, but we lucked out. The area was not open for Saturday, Sunday, or Monday, but we all drove down on Tuesday and were put into a larger and much nicer rental property for the remainder of the week. Luckily we had taken out the insurance so we were covered for those 3 days. Nice :-) Tomorrow we return to Lexington where I will finish up my final post from Buddy’s hike of the Long Trail in Vermont. He DID make it to the Canadian border and back. Thanks to all of you for your interest and encouragement. Can’t wait to post the final collection of shots.

This peaceful scene you post belies all of Mother Nature's tantrums you've had to endure. Glad Buddy is back with you, safe and sound, and that he fulfilled his dream hike.

ReplyDeleteI am so glad Buddy made it back before the floods set in and sorry Irene disrupted part of your vacation. Congrats to him for finishing! That was an amazing hike and I thank both of your for sharing (and continuing to do so).
