Skywatch Friday ~ 9-2-11

Back Bay National Wildlife Preserve
Virginia Beach, Virginia

Buddy made it back from Vermont in time to miss our 5.8 Virginia earthquake, but he did make it in time for the hurricane Irene. We almost did not get to take our vacation at Virginia Beach, but we lucked out. The area was not open for Saturday, Sunday, or Monday, but we all drove down on Tuesday and were put into a larger and much nicer rental property for the remainder of the week. Luckily we had taken out the insurance so we were covered for those 3 days. Nice :-) Tomorrow we return to Lexington where I will finish up my final post from Buddy’s hike of the Long Trail in Vermont. He DID make it to the Canadian border and back. Thanks to all of you for your interest and encouragement. Can’t wait to post the final collection of shots.

  7. I was wondering what was going on. I thought maybe Buddy crossed the border and kept on going. "There's no stopping me now." I have to agree, that is one beautiful photo.
