Main Street ~ Hot Springs, NC
The Appalachian Trail goes right through this precious, tiny town, and it is one of my husband’s and my favorites places to revisit. This was taken on one gorgeous day with a beautiful blue sky and lots of great reflections.

When I hear that I think, yeah, that's the problem.”

oh the quote cracked me up!!!
ReplyDeleteloved the little bench-style window box of blooms under that bank window. beautiful place.
What a "smart lady" you are to always have your camera handy. You just never know when a fantastic photo op will appear. And, the more shots you take, the better photographer you become! Love your reflection shot--looks like a great little town to "look around" in. Have a nice weekend. Mickie :)
ReplyDeleteGenie, it is this kind of scene that makes me think of William Least Heat-Moon's adventure in Blue Highways, the kind of travel I love best. Nice.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite place to visit too. we have friends with a cabin on the Laurel River there. Great town!
ReplyDeleteI love the COLOR here, never mind the fantastic reflections. this is Americana at its best. thanks for sharing a wonderful slice of your life Genie. it makes me happy.
ReplyDeleteIt is for little towns like this I like to stick to the little backroads when I travel. Someday I hope to make it out to the east coast. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place! I like main streets like this especially when there are reflections to be found!
ReplyDeleteFun place. And so photogenic!
ReplyDeleteIt's superb!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great looking town - your quote made me laugh - have a safe week-end!
ReplyDeleteI see why you guys love this place. Your photo does it justice. The reflections are a nice bonus.
ReplyDeleteNice reflection, especially as I would have thought there were no buildings on the other side of the street.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great, fun place and what a terrific capture and reflections!! And the quote broke me up, too! What a hoot!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

This is one of those cute looking towns, great for when you're on vacation:)
ReplyDeleteI like the bank too ;-)
ReplyDeleteNeat shot, very serene and tranquil, my kind of town!
You know when I see a store like that with stuff spilling out everywhere, I have to stop and check it out.
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful Hot Springs! And we love to find quirky, different little towns. A huge part of what's fun about traveling the backroads, not the dopy freeways.
