Side Views of Small Hay Barn at Toad Hall ~ Rockbridge County, VA
“We are running out of time. Can you imagine an America without a barn on the landscape? Is that the America we want?”
~Rod Scott
There are several barns on this piece of property with this one being the closest to the main house. It may look to be in disrepair, but it does have a lot of personality.
This post is linked with Tricia’s Barn Charm.
makes for a nice photo, but they have a lot of extra air conditioning in that one!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it's completely dangerous to go exploring in this old barn, and yet I'm grateful for its existence, because it provides some people (you, at least) with opportunities to take some great photographs!
ReplyDeleteWonderful mosaic and photos of the barn and love the quote. Also enjoyed your other photos... you are doing well on your digital climb! I just love the daisy quote--my favorite flower!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! This barn was obviously hand made and took much work. I hate to see them fall apart. Great photo though!
ReplyDeleteI love barns whether they are in disrepair or beautifully restored.

Great barn photos. There's something so beguiling about an old barn, isn't there?
ReplyDeletethe color of that wood is out-of-this-world beautiful. I know people dis-mantle old barns and salvage the wood, but it never looks as gorgeous any place other than where it once was - as a barn. great shots Genie.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be fun to join you as you poke around your area, Genie.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason this barn doesn't look all that old to me even though it's in serious disrepair.
That staircase looks in pretty good condition. And this barn has some wide gaps between the boards, even before the boards started falling off.
ReplyDeleteLots of open space in this barn! I love all the detailed shots you shared in this one.
ReplyDeleteold, mysterious & in desperate need of love!!!
ReplyDeleteThe stairs do look in good shape though. Good capture of a great old barn.
ReplyDeleteNow, that's a very cool barn find... I love how you took the different shots & put them together, too. That rock/stone foundation is just awesome... love them best!
ReplyDeleteYou're absolutely right, it still has lots of personality! =)
Thank you so much for joining & don't worry about commenting on older posts... I've done it before, too! heheheee =)
That's a beautiful barn in a lovely setting! I like the peek inside at the staircase.
ReplyDeleteThese are great shots! I have missed the past two Barn Charm posts...the first time because we were away from home and this week because i was sick.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are spectacular, Genie! Old barns and outbuildings are some of my favourite things to photograph, too.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your comments on my Belfast post...I do hope you get back to Ireland once more. We emigrated when I was eleven, and it took me until I was almost sixty
before I got back. That's way to long a wait to go home again!
Have a great week, and I look forward to visiting with you again...:)
