Swinging Bridge at Rockbridge Baths, VA
The Rotten Boards Have Been Replaced
When I posted this swinging bridge during the winter, it had quite a few seriously rotted boards over which I had to step. So many of you showed concern in your comments about the deterioration and your desire for it to be fixed, I wanted to give you the good news. These shots were taken last week on a very foggy morning driving the back roads to work. I thought the bridge and fog would make for a nice picture so I decided to stop. The upper picture on the right shows a huge spider web and the bottom one was taken as I was walking off. You will see just how foggy it was when you look at the big field across the street. You cannot see it, but it is there.

from illuminating the fog that surrounds us."

What a beautiful collage, Genie. I am relieved that the boards have been fixed. I especially like the big photo on the left.
ReplyDeleteI love bridges like this - great shots. I finally have some bridge photos from Vancouver and Portland to put up for Sunday Bridges.
ReplyDeleteI'm still not sure I'd cross that bridge. lol :)
ReplyDeleteNot even in fog would I cross this - but it sure looks pretty!
ReplyDeletea perfect quote to go along with these very nice photos. It was fun to enlarge them to see more details too.

ReplyDeleteNeat looking bridge, I would like to see this bridge in person. Great photo, I love the fog.
ReplyDeleteThat was a lovely mosaic of your swinging bridge.
ReplyDeleteLove the foggy atmosphere. This could be the cover of a thriller!
ReplyDeleteGenie, this is super duper! Nicely done montage of this swinging bridge in the fog - fabulous enlarged. I had to laugh at the sign, though, as that would be rather useless in Asia. People love to make it swing... that's why it's a swinging bridge! :-D
ReplyDeletegood to see it has been repaired
ReplyDeleteVery nice pics!
ReplyDeleteI just crossed (and photographed) a long one in Kauai.
Wonderful mosaic and love the bridge. Super shots. Glad to know it is maintained ... so special. Have a great week!

Gorgeous photos! I'd still be afraid to cross..I don't like heights! But I love to take photos! ♥
ReplyDeleteTruly a scenic old bridge and you used it to make a very nice collage.
ReplyDeleteThat's good news! It's scary enough to get a warning on a bridge without there being rotten boards, too. What awesome pictures!
ReplyDeleteStunning shots!!! But I could never cross that bridge, no way, no possible. Gorgeous mosaic.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your bridges~ wonderful mosaic & photos! They look so picturesque with the fog surrounding them!
ReplyDeleteYes, I remember this from Winter. I'm glad they fixed it and it looks great with the fog. It's been a strange Spring - virtually no fog this year to date.
