This is an old wooden water trough we discovered last weekend while wandering along the James River at Eagle Rock, VA. It looks like a mini-Noah’s Ark or an oversized baby cradle to me. It is so full of that old vintage farm look I wish I had one sitting here on the property to use for a flower bed.

I thought oversized cradle the moment I saw it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo! I love this. It's history...
ReplyDeleteThere's something special about decaying wood. The textures are great, and the wood seems to be returning to - ahem! - its roots!
ReplyDeleteA picture like this can give inspiration to lots of stories. Well captured!

What a great find. It does look a like a small Noah's ark. Also makes me think of an old cradle. I had a great vacation once in Bedford VA and we enjoyed the James River. At the James River park near Bedford there was a great old canal lock.
