Our Rented 3~Bedroom Cabin at Douthat State Park ~ Bath/Allegheny County, VA
Douthat has many old CCC cabins for rent, but now they have built some newer ones. This particular cabin ~ actually, it is too nice to be called a “cabin” ~ was just completed about 4 months ago. It is the only 3 bedroom one in the park. There are camper sites, efficiencies, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, this 3 bedroom, and 3 lodges that each sleep around 15 people. They are all reasonably priced, and during the winter months are rented at reduced rates. Now, you see why we go so often between November and the end of March. It is the best bargain in this part of the state, and it is only 30 minutes from our house.

  1. Happy Birthday, Genie.. just a tad late.

You amaze me with the miles that you hiked with your family. I'm 68 and I couldn't come close to hiking that far.. I wish I still could, I love hiking through the woods an seeing all that nature has to offer.

    be well, be happy,

  2. Fantastically beautiful & what a phenomenal view you have there! Blue Ridge Mountains... WoW! =)

  3. It looks like a gorgeous spot to live!

  4. I'm surprised they allow dwellings in a State Park. Great for walking though. Lovely shot Genie.

  5. Hiya Genie:

Nice to keep coming back to a place you know well.

  6. Looks like a neat place to get away to during the winter months.
